More than 200 chains (L1s, L2s and L3s) have launched in the past year. That means it’s getting harder to compete for mindshare - why should I use or build on your chain, and how is it different from any other general purpose platform? Technical superiority isn’t enough - plenty of examples in tech where the most advanced option failed to gain traction (think Betamax vs VHS). But purely operating off vibes doesn’t work either - developers are the lifeblood of crypto, and there needs to be something of substance for them to stick around. The most successful and fastest growing ecosystems have to offer a novel value proposition AND have a strong GTM (while realizing devs, creators and users all overlap) Here’s a few (non exhaustive examples) of ecosystems with near term launches doing it all:

At SimpleHash, we're dedicated to providing developers with the broadest chain coverage in the industry. Our support extends across a diverse spectrum of networks, from established platforms like Ethereum and Solana to emerging platforms such as the new L2s and L3s, and even the full Bitcoin ecosystem - Ordinals, Runes, and Rare Sats. Our comprehensive API allows you to interact seamlessly with both NFTs and fungible tokens across multiple mainnets and testnets. We understand that the blockchain landscape is ever-evolving. That's why we're constantly expanding our support to include new chains with active developer communities. Don't see your preferred network on our list? We're all ears! I often get asked by friends if it's still worth investing in crypto and what to buy. That's after the eye-rolls, pitying looks, and getting laughed at on Thanksgiving. In all seriousness, here's my advice: Don’t allocate more than you can afford to lose (a few percentage points of your portfolio) Keep it simple - a balanced set of BTC, ETH and SOL, held without making stupid frequent trades will probably out-perform 90% of strategies over a longer horizon, and give decent exposure to the space without too much brain damage Don’t check the charts. And expect a long holding period, and a lot of volatility (Or alternatively, check out @alongside - awesome people building the index funds of crypto) Obviously if you’re reading this, you might be much more experienced / have a much higher risk tolerance, or just be a full degen. In that case, this doesn’t apply What do you think / what do you tell friends?
