The first paragraph of my latest memo describes a mental model and poses some questions. I am wondering whether the result is simple, intuitive and comprehensible. My guess is, it is not so much so. But you tell me. How could I put it more elegantly?

First note, visually break it up, white space is as important as black is an unfortunate truth I’ve found.

I think, like you say, people have trouble grasping large numbers and the framing of 200,000 years works against you. It’s easy to slip into the bog referencing 8,000 generations (unless the bog is the point)
