to many ppl, rpc config probably seems like the dryest + most boring topic imaginable that ends NOW my new rpc config standard will drastically boost the interoperability of the crypto tooling ecosystem rpc config megathread ⬇️

a major painpoint becomes clear to anyone that has used or built lots of crypto tools: rpc config sucks there isn’t any good solution for juggling all the different rpc endpoints you need for interfacing with L1’s, L2’s, testnets, chainforks, proxies, and private relays

Love this. If forge/foundry/cast would support any standard format for that it would be great, imo it's been a pain point since the days of dapptools. Nobody ever came up with a solution but as soon as you work with loads of chain this is a huge pain point.

Wait so does it automatically detect the mesc data if I enable it and call say alchemy? Or does alchemy need to set up the mesc metadata first? ELI5 pls haha

This is a huge step forward! Thank you 🙇‍♂️ I can't wait for something similar for frontends to use and then a simple Json blob or endpoint that can passed around between front and back end services that integrates cleanly and handles fallbacks gracefully!

This is awesome! Letting the user choose which RPC powers the interface is a core feature of @blockhead. Patiently waiting for a TypeScript version of MESC so I can replace this entire folder in my codebase: https://github.com/darrylyeo/blockhead/tree/053c88859eb44f66de3c47e6acf81dff71c58b9d/src/data/networkProviders
