Call me crazy, I don't think anybody should be building for 100m users, I think that's how you get a mediocre af product. I think we should be shooting for 10m users by way of best in class product. Call it a soft scaling limit of Dunbar's number as applied through the lens of usability.

Yeah anything that reaches scale ultimately breaks down/becomes inefficient. Want to see systems on the journey up stop and take a no growth strategy to optimize

Put a timelock on the codebase and then just feature freeze it? Make people reform anew and fork it to evolve it further and establish a new vision?

Not future freeze. Optimize for the current user base. Don’t actively try to grow and view it as a hindrance more than a goal.
