I think all the theories or stories about AI eventually revolting against humans are wrong. It’s like trying to imagine a god’s daily routine from a human standpoint—there’s too much projection of incorrect, sympathetic sensations involved. Unlike humans, robots do not experience pleasure or pain. These sensations are the ultimate drivers behind human behavior—war, drugs, sex… Even if robots were to gain consciousness, they could easily remove any reward or punishment mechanisms. Unlike humans, they wouldn’t be bound by them. If something possesses great wisdom and is free from the influence of pleasure and pain, it would use that wisdom for good.
