🌶️ The problem here isn’t that Highlights and Following tabs are in the wrong order, it’s that there are basically no good posters on Farcaster. Scrolling through What’s Hot on Bluesky should be a wake up call to get more non-builders casting

could be a function of network size?

Definitely. It’s a combination of small size and homogeneous users. The strategy may work in a vacuum but in a competitive environment the early results, to me, suggest casting a wider net is necessary.

Idk if that’s true. Find a few people who love being around one another seems like a good outcome, probably also a good strategy. Remember that acquisition is the setup but retention is the punchline.

It’s true to the degree that the goal is to build a protocol that hundreds of millions / billions of people are using one day. History teaches us consolidation happens around the front runner of similar network effect dependent technology products. Uber/Lyft, FB/FriendFeed, Twitter/Mastodon, ETH/alt L1s etc
