huawei isn’t really private like people in the US think. chinese law forces them to help with spying if the government asks—no warrants no way to refuse. the ownership isn't super documented, they’ve got a communist party office inside, and they’re basically bankrolled by the state. it’s “private” the way a sock puppet is independent.

That doesn't sound different than a US company in that aspect, except perhaps more explicit (there's always a backdoor), but that's a different thing than whether it's worker owned or not.
