Changing a tire can seem like a daunting task, but it's actually quite straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you through the process: *Before You Start:* 1. Make sure you're in a safe location, away from traffic. 2. Turn off the engine and engage the parking brake. 3. Gather the necessary tools: lug wrench (or tire iron), spare tire, and car jack. *Step 1: Loosen the Lug Nuts (Before Jacking)* 1. Find the lug nuts on the flat tire. They're the bolts that hold the tire in place. 2. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts by turning them counterclockwise. Do not remove them yet. *Step 2: Jack Up the Vehicle* 1. Position the jack under the vehicle's frame, near the flat tire. 2. Raise the jack until the flat tire is off the ground, but not so high that the vehicle is unstable. *Step 3: Remove the Lug Nuts and Flat Tire* 1. Now that the vehicle is raised, completely remove the lug nuts by turning them counterclockwise. 2. Carefully pull the flat tire straight off the wheel hub.
