/design will use hyperbot on day 1 no details yet (they're coming this week), but what I'm thinking - we'll have to aggressively define what "design" is in the context of the channel (most likely digital design, to begin with) - membership will be geared towards professionals cc @baseddesigner.eth @nicolaus

As far as “defining” design, I think sticking to larger categories of digital and print make the most sense. I hope to see more discussion around frameworks and educational content as well. As you mentioned a few months back, there are channels for more niche design areas like /product-design /ux (wen /industrial-design cc @maurice ) Obviously where to draw the line in the sand is nuanced.

Other design channels are a prime motivator for me, meaning we should not encroach on new niche design channels What I mean is that, maybe, we actually should not restrict to any specific disciplines Instead, we should be like a professional organisation (say AIGA): I still think that is the model we should follow. No one's stopping a flower designer, an illustrator or a ceramic artist from joining AIGA as long as they pay their dues AIGA makes it clear at the outset that the content and support they provide members is mostly for the benefit of graphic or visual designers; if a flower designer wants to go to an AIGA meetup and talk about floral arrangement they're not gonna be thrown out lol just maybe have a hard time finding people to talk to lol
