While I’m all for rapid, iterative development the “move fast and break things” mantra is a misnomer. It was eventually abandoned by Facebook because the complexity of the spaghetti code that ensued from their aggressive development pace caused likely irreparable technical debt. There is still reason to take strategic action in development— in fact I’d argue it helps you move faster long term.

totally agree. the "just build" advice to me just translates to taking initiative design and planning need to be right-sized. some people miss the mark when trying to be "agile"
