Observations from creating my first viral @clanker 1. Social proof is everything. If @ace hadn’t co-signed mine as the “official” one, it wouldn’t have picked up speed 2. The fees add up. I made ~0.6E + 560mm+ $SILKROAD 3. Very difficult to sustain the initial hype — jeets abound. I went to sleep and the mcap dipped over 50%. 4. It’s too hard to buy. I sent the ticker to my friends and they struggled to ape (esp from mobile) 5. Loved that I could spin up an @anoncast world community 6. My followers on X blew up. Clanker has escape velocity

Memes are Lindy but the memes themselves are more often ephemeral. There’s a performative aspect to launching these things without a product. You’re essentially riding the wave of hype and attention while it lasts, till your next great idea. I launched the token in commemoration of a moment many of us had waited on for years. For that reason, I’ll always hold my $SILKROAD In fact, I’d gladly give it to builders who want to build private rails for commerce. Cc @zd ? 👀
