Deja vú, or my thoughts (and a bit of crypto history) surrounding the seemingly unending debate over Farcaster decentralization.

„While the Merkle team appears to communicate with developers before making decisions, no DAO or proposal framework dictates the outcomes of such conversations. Does this matter beyond semantics?“ Yes it matters since the long cast FIP 171 change was pulled in to the protocol in an altered version that was never discussed within 24 hours. Which for a protocol doesn’t scream „hey dev this is stable enough to build on“ Though outside of that incident communication has always been 3-14 days of time to adjust depending on the size of the change

Fair play. One anomaly in a stream of solid comms isn’t too bad. Still, a formal process would be great in the future.

Only the future tells you if it’s an anomaly or not
