"When you see a narrative like this become the current thing it's a good time to be wary. Use products and spend time with the founders first and don't blindly chase the current thing." This part of your text was very beautiful and instructive،thank you🙏

That's exactly what Peter Lynch (one of the OGs in investing) recommends as well: https://www.amazon.com/One-Up-Wall-Street-Already/dp/0743200403/ One of my favorite books!

Investing based on narratives can be risky. Focusing on the products themselves and their long-term potential is a much more solid strategy. It's about understanding the value and utility of what you're investing in, rather than just following the crowd. Thanks for sharing this perspective!

Narrative/trend chasing is hard to overcome since many believe that is where the liquidity will come from. Few have enough contrarian opinions and conviction to bet on something that others are not yet betting on. Would argue since these bets aren't sexy & talked about - it's a reinforcing doom loop.

Yeah this is a really good one. Skate to where the puck is going while people focus on the narrative. The crowd will always follow the thought leaders but finding the alpha is about finding what people don’t even know they’ll like. Or something like that.

the great part is that as we hopefully get more fair launches and things like echo, one can invest in such products pre ipo / token launch part of the issues crypto fixes is that of restricted/gatekept access the great equalizer

Yes. Investors currently separating themselves from one another by their behavior during narrative intervals. Pay attention to the investors collecting 1/1 digital art vs. those hosting memecoin hackathons right now 👀

This is one of the reasons I believe in degen although it has a strong narrative currently I lean more towards the use of it as a social currency as I use it everyday

Fact! Focusing on the merit of the product itself rather than paying attention to stories helps a lot. This approach may not always lead to quick gains or hype profits, but it can help mitigate the risks of falling victim to scams or rugschemes. But I think nowadays people focus on stories than products itself.

The best products eventually form their own stronger narratives forged over the trials of fire. Tough to ignore memetics. We’ve seen meme seasons come and go, most interesting thing for me is how “acceptable it’s become to shill and sell the bags. Also think calling quote unquote winners is laughable.

As long as the products are untethered from the real tangible good world. Real tangible goods are constructed by physical realities which thereby limit multiples, whereas post industrial/services are often unburdened by these limits. Harsh reality of modern day economy. Otherwise my Mosaic positions would be greener

I feel like this is very much my style - let me tell you, I’m always a little late. I tried LooksRare, bought and sold some NFTs, loved it. Bought some tokens and staked them, liked the experience. Okay, I’m in - right as the insiders decided to get out. Held DeFi blue chips to zero, mid curved NFT mints…

And if I have to add, judge the product by not only by what it does today, but what it can do 1 year, 2 years, 10 years down the line.

Narratives are short term and makes sense to trade these given cyclical nature of crypto eventually just buying and holding quality assets over multiple cycles will be the winning strategy as it always has been (e.g. BTC, ETH)
