imo you get what you pay for yeah the fees are expensive but you are getting immutable assets on the most resilient chain imaginable on Base you are paying cheap fees because of a centralization tradeoff and the fact it gets far less traffic than BTC

I try to keep an open mind with this. The struggle for me has been when I pop into a twitter spaces for runes / ordinals, and all I hear is “Will you be my exit liquidity?” I think I need to work on improving my info diet around this area in particular.

i feel like my generation is okay with replacing ethereum more readily than bitcoin, and the reason why is compute. don't personally care to trade meme coins on btc? stopped holding btc offline.

I think that's a really fair take. I get excited about Ordinals and Runes when I listen to or read what Danny Yang (OCM) shares. His vision for what the entire BTC network could become is captivating - but the bottom line is that the fees and the speed and the community are not right - yet.
