grateful i had time to learn most of cs prior to ai wave, if i was new to programming i would be too tempted to skip actual learning in favor of more LLM usage, resulting in a many knowledge gaps (knowledge of architecture, security, languages, protocols, etc)

yeah, it's really valuable to know the fundamentals so that you know what's going behind the scenes and direct the ai in the best way.
