Ethereum developer Virgil Griffith was released from prison this morning and will temporarily stay in a halfway house before beginning his parole period, during which he will remain under certain work restrictions. Griffith, who previously played key roles at the Ethereum Foundation and the ENS project, drew widespread attention for his controversial “Blockchain and Peace” speech delivered in North Korea.

Justin Sun has accused First Digital Trust of managing TUSD’s $501 million reserve while refusing to process redemptions. He further alleged that FDT is actually bankrupt and unable to return customer funds. FDT, which also issues FDUSD — a stablecoin supported by Binance — cited AML/KYC concerns and doubts about the ultimate beneficial owner's identity as reasons for the refusal. Following the controversy, FDUSD briefly lost its peg by more than 5%.

Ethereum has raised the network’s gas limit beyond 30 million, following approval from over 50% of validators. The adjustment required majority support to take effect and marks the first such change under Ethereum’s proof-of-stake consensus. The last modification occurred in 2021, when the gas limit doubled from 15 million to 30 million units.
