Justin Boons, founder and chief investment officer of the venture capital firm CyberCapital, has criticized Ethereum (ETH) and its Layer 2 platforms in particular. In a post on social network X (formerly Twitter), he claimed that layer 2 solutions such as ARB and Base are fundamentally flawed and service-centric. Bones accused Ethereum developers of not paying attention to scalability from the start and called layer 2 solutions parasitic that create unhealthy dependencies. He believes these platforms compromise security by sacrificing decentralization and should not be considered base layer development. In contrast, Bones advocated DASH as a blockchain that focused on scalability and decentralized governance from the ground up. Despite these criticisms, Ethereum developers are working on on-chain scalability solutions, and the approval of Ethereum spot ETFs is a confirmation of the network. /farcon
