Today we honor Richard “Dick” Butt: An accomplished basketball coach in Indiana, he began his coaching career in 1958. He served as head coach at Liberty Center from 1959 to 1964, achieving a 70-40 record and leading the team to a county title and the 1964 Sectional title. Butt continued his coaching career at Lakeland from 1964 to 1973, securing additional sectional titles. He retired in 1996 with 429 career wins and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2023.
