Masan Holi 🔥
After an extensive exploration of Brij Holi, I decided to take a train to Varanasi, but I was already exhausted. Although I had been informed that Masan Holi would be celebrated at Manikarnika Ghat, I had no prior knowledge of the place since it was my first visit. I arrived at around 7:30 am in the morning, and fortunately, the crowd was relatively sparse at that time. However, as the clock struck 11 am, the area became increasingly crowded, making it quite challenging for me to remain there. Despite multiple attempts to re-enter the space, I eventually decided to step back. As I did so, I noticed a group of devotees with Shiva makeup proceeding towards Manikarnika Ghat, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of drums. Seizing the opportunity, I managed to capture a portrait of them, even though the lighting conditions were challenging and the crowd was overwhelming. It was truly an exhilarating experience to frame their portrait. 🔥 11 replies
