Network States

People who are interested in living in a long-term network state node (so, permanent location, not popup), what are some properties that you would like such a node to have?

First and foremost - great people.

Location - in a region with intense cultural & scientific life. Creating your own city is great, but living in complete physical isolation is not good.

Something with mountains / hills - makes you care about your land much more than a flat city.

Cold climate - makes you work harder.
