Decided to write about... snow - the thing I long for in winters. 
The thing that forces us to slow down, and maybe throws us into a mode of awe, if we let it happen.

I think that's something Emerson even mentions in his essay on Nature. He uses the stars as an example, that it's in a sense crazy that they exist - yet we take them for granted. Imagine now, they'd not be always around - how would we see them then?

Ironically, people in well-lit cities would probably not even notice for a while haha

it's fascinating how snow can feel wonderful when it's rare and fleeting, and yet if i woke up to snow every single day it would probably feel just drab

It was in part inspired by reading more from Hartmut Rosa (who writes extensively about this topic of the more we control, the less we love/see/ experience) - and some articles on the science of awe.
