I'm not a fan of fiction books.

Fiction relies on made-up characters, plots, and metaphors to explore aspects of reality and human nature.

I find it much more fun to learn the core ideas presented directly.

I often have people tell me that fiction is a waste of time and ideally I should read the summary on blinkist cause efficiency. 

Sooo exploring aspects of reality and human nature is not a worthy thing, cause stuff is made up in those books. 

Have you considered that most  economists are also just making stuff up? 😏

man fiction is the single most influential creative form, @prberg doesn't have a way of comprehending his own experience as a living being that exists outside the influence of fiction.

Maybe some of these people need like a fiction retreat. 

We lock them in a museum and make them look at abstract art and listen to readings of poems , short stories and novels.

I worry they'd revolt

its always surprising to me when tech people specifically image fiction is somehow less than 'reality' given the enormous debt that the industry owes to authors who imagined worlds, ways of interacting, and technologies we are building today today
