The more I learn about Nietzsche, the more I'm convinced people aren't doing him right by portraying him as the poster boy for nihilisim. If anything, he seems to encourage being life-affirming, and striving to find purpose in world making it hard to find meaning.

Yup. He offers an approach to nihilism that requires the will to power to be of an affirmative and creative nature. He encourages us to, by creating new values, overcome the crisis and collapse of religious and philosophical value systems that inevitably have already led to, and which perpetuate nihilism. Say yes!

I also feel this way - I’ve interrupted some of his work as self reflective. As an example helping us realize what envy can tell us and using it as a path towards meaning.
