am working on a piece about how data is stored on solana. And a bit lost in the rabbit hole. 

Anyone here got good sources on how/where data is managed and also on indexing.

I've been trying to figure out how historical data is stored. Originally, there is the concept of archivers, but it's not clear how/ if that's still in place. 

So how and where is it stored? I see filecoin collab which might be the answer.
