Yes, I felt that too. The struggles he faced are in many ways precursors if not mirrored in today's society. Like being a sensitive soul in a place that seems to favor the loud, borderline obnoxious is tough.

I grew up with Schumann's piano pieces (my sister who practiced them).
Lately I've come across Schumann's songs again. I think Schuhmann fits well into our time right now as there are many parallels to his time (neo-romanticism?).
