Happy Friday VIPs and everyone else đź’“ Decided to write about my struggles to control the relationship I had with my phone. A few years ago, phone cases with straps became a thing, allowing people to carry them around, always ready to access.. I don't think it's a coincidence that the German word for it contained the word chain. If anything, it's probably the most accurate metaphor. https://paragraph.xyz/@cryptonao/unhooked?referrer=0x44BCa7E527efC8ce8a8B2A83596EA66194Dd9239

Hello Naomi, I appreciate you for writing this piece. I switched my digital distraction device haha to monochrome mode and that's made a difference; all the apps now look the same and don't call so loudly to me for my attention! I also got a nice little hit from your piece by handwriting that German sentence you quoted - Vorfreude ist die schönste Freude - with a gel pen (haven't gone back to a fountain pen just yet) because I wanted to feel the sensation of writing the umlaut above the o :-) Not a pleasure we have in English.

Thank you! Glad you enjoy it. Oh yes, we have many words with Umlaut :D I'm sure there is more sayings that feature them. Next time I come across one I let you know
