The farcaster app is a social media app built around Degen in the sense that you get an airdrop for tipping degen from your daily tip allowance to other people and other people tip you with degen for posting interesting stuff. You can check how much your tipping allowance is with frames, but it can take a bit to update

I think once we start seeing more apps using farcaster, we'll see a better understanding from more users. Right now in web2 social media it's app+network all built into one (for the most part). 

I'm assuming Spaces/YT probably use degen as a hook for people to continue listening
