Turpentine question for y’all: how do you approach eating prior to training sessions? Any heuristics / rules you operate by? Do you do things differently for sparring vs drilling, or for longer vs short sessions?

2 Onigiris and 1 bottle of calpico (Japanese market on the way to the gym) if I train at noon, regular lunch, fruit at 3-4 if I train at 6pm. Class is usually 1.5hrs.

Makes sense. Something light 1-2 before and larger meals 3-4 hours prior is what I tend to do. Guessing that's the common approach for most people. I do recall crushing massive roast dinners 90 mins before sessions years ago and being fine—alas, I can no longer do that!
