What is Slowcore? It started out as a made-up term to express distaste for hustle culture. Then it took on a life of its own. Now this concept is so fully integrated into what we're doing with Black Stone Sanctuary that we named our channel after it. (Screenshot essay snippet is from Slowcore and the Inner Genius)

Glad to hear it speaks to you. Thanks for commenting! In an environment that normalizes habits of hustle culture, it can be really challenging to resist the tides that lead to burnout - especially because there's a personal cost (i.e., it may put you at a disadvantage relative to those who embrace hustle culture).

Indeed. As long as extractive forces continue to prevail, slowcore approaches will be disadvantaged. I'm optimistic about the potential of web3, but we still have a long way to go. It doesn't help that there's so much talk about the collective benefits of "hard work," while ignoring or downplaying the personal cost.
