What if you could pay to re-roll a generative piece you own after minting it but also keep the original mint?

re-roll as in still a mystery mint on that second roll? I feel like that could dilute the overall experience. Not sure I'd do it. Instead, I think I'd just pay the premium on secondary to get the one I want.

There’s probably a bunch of permutations of this idea that look slightly different if implemented. Curious as to why you think it’d be dilutive?

I guess would be helpful to understand fully what you mean by "re-roll"? Because if you don't like your mint, there are two options: (1) buy another so long as supply is available and (2) potentially pay a premium on secondary for what you like. If you re-roll outside of available supply, then it becomes dilutive IMO.

I think re-roll can mean anything 😂 Initially, thought it could be essentially a complete re-roll but it's on the same token, so it's not like supply is increasing. Another thought was something more like variants of the original mint. Still all on the same token though, so no extra supply.

I'm not a gen artist, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. But to me, the interplay between algo and chain is incredible. That a particular seed is triggered at mint based on day/time. There is something magical/whimsical about it. Being able to "re-roll" removes that for me. Just do a mint pass à la Sketchbook.

I agree. It would have to be magical and still rely on the interplay with the chain. And it would need to be additive imo. Not taking away the original.
