Gm /running, need some opinions on this: I started training for a 10k race in March, but now Iโm considering doing a half marathon race at the end of May. My longest run/jog is an hour, 10k, on a treadmill, a week ago. Is a half marathon race by the end of May too ambitious of a goal for my amateur self?

definitely feasible! try to get off the treadmill though, it does sooo much work for you (unless you're using one of the curved self-pacing ones) i trained over the winter on a treadmill for a race in the spring and was doing an 8min mile there but ended up clocking in at a 9:20 pace in the actual race ๐ฅฒ

Aw man this makes me sad to hear because Iโd love to get off the treadmill but where I live is -20-40 temps until April. I might just have to start investing in winter running gear if thatโs the case ๐ฅฒ

i feel you, i live in montreal so outdoor running isn't always feasible haha. a compromise can be running on a slight incline on the treadmill - just try to increase the amount of effort you have to put in to propel yourself forward, that's the biggest difference with running on treadmill vs the ground
