The president of Argentina has apparently done a gigantic rug pull on his own citizens after announcing the launch of a cryptocurrency token which was immediately rugged by insiders after running up a huge valuation. It was unclear whether Milei was hacked or personally directed it but he later posted on X denouncing critics of the launch. 

This is much worse than a meme coin because he claimed the coin would have utility and even help the Argentinian economy. Crypto has unfortunately helped inaugurate a new golden age of elite theft
