Struck by how near perfect a movie Top Gun Maverick is - the title sequence instantly telling you “yes we love this too” - the opening bit hitting both nostalgia tones and telling you who Mav is - the trench run training seq - Mav and Rooster going Mission Impossible on the old f14.

perfect balance of nostalgia/callbacks, story as a sequel but not too contrived, same type of content but massively updated quality of stunts and effects, BEST SOUNDTRACK
