the chat was segmented perfectly imo: viewing from the channel was completely topical but also getting it in my highlights was lovely. only con is that NFT-gated is a no go imo

yes. it’s an arbitrary message type for counting and can point to an fid, cast or an embed

how would you gate access with that in this case?

clients gate based on users who have submitted a “countable message” to hubs the set of “countable messages” in relation to specific target(s) is fetched from hubs via RPC fids found in the set of “countable messages” are granted access farcaster is graph based protocol, so set theory works well here
