I do not think that powel will lower the interest rate, but rather he will intervene in the media to calm the situation, and if he does it and lower the interest rate, he will have committed the mistake of Paul Volcker in the seventies, when the interest rate was lowered under the pressure of the markets, and an inflationary wave broke out that was the worst in the history of the United States.
