Binance raises fees for broker users, report👽 Binance will be changing its fee structures on July 1, effectively raising fees for users who trade on the platform via prime brokers, reports Bloomberg. Previously, brokers who were a part of Binance’s Link Plus program were able to lower trading fees for users thanks to the total volume the broker was doing. It effectively allowed users to benefit from a more generous fee tier than their trading would normally justify. Previously, the structure of this setup meant certain traders could receive lower fees by trading through these brokers instead of Binance directly, benefitting from the broker’s ability to aggregate its many sub-accounts. This change would significantly reduce the incentive for traders to use these brokers, potentially driving them toward Binance itself.

On June 22, hackers attacked BtcTurk. The Turkish cryptocurrency exchange has suspended deposits and withdrawals of assets until the investigation into the incident is completed. According to the platform, the attackers gained access to the hot wallets of 10 different cryptocurrencies. The exchange remains solvent. Cold wallets with most assets are safe. Chinese journalist Colin Wu reported $54 million worth of Avalanche (AVAX) tokens sold. Previously, researcher VeriDelisi identified the address from which the assets were originally transferred as belonging to BtcTurk.

Initially, it seemed Curtis Jackson, also known as 50 Cent, was launching his own token, considering the recent trend of celebrities endorsing meme coins. However, it was later exposed that this was a pump-and-dump scam. Moreover, the hacker had cleverly framed the tweets, referring to 50 Cent’s cognac brand and crypto history, intentionally making the scam seem legitimate. As a result, there was a rush of investments into GUNIT, and the trading volume of takens witnessed an increase of 8,000% before crashing.

It has no proprietary token and does not require any fork. It’s dubbed ‘Brollups’ — a portmanteau of either ‘Burak’ and ‘rollup’ or ‘bro’ and ‘rollup.’ A rollup is a bundle of transactions that occur off-blockchain. They’re ‘rolled-up’ into a consolidated file and mined on-chain. Also known as a ‘layer 2,’ they’re essentially separate blockchains that borrow security and value from a base, ‘layer 1’ blockchain like Bitcoin.
