This is my assessment of this Election cycle: 1) Historically, Democrats/Progressives were always seen as the "bigger" person, they aren't reactionary and don't rely on conspiracy and superstition like the Republicans historically do, so they were always the populous party. 2) Trump came in 2016, made Democrats lose their cool. They took off their gloves and stooped down to Trump level of rhetoric. Trump made them play his game, not the other way around. 3) Far-leftist loved it, except the rest of the country doesn't identify that way and cannot relate to this new rhetoric the Democrats are using. This causes them to have difficulties telling the two parties apart (look up Horseshoe Theory). 4) Trump and the Conservatives saw this, took advantage of it by leaning away from the far-right during this campaign to capture enough undecided centrists. Executed it perfectly, and won by a landslide. Do you agree with this?
