That whole Tim Ferris subculture never really went away. They just formed their own parallel universe of learning lifestyles. 

My reaction to people just mastering domain after domain is pure puzzlement. Why??? What’s the reason besides addiction? Something deeply nihilistic here. Like people doing multiple PhDs.
