Conceptually, I’m a fan of network states, but I have a disconnect: What do network states uniquely export? It seems the only compelling answer is products uniquely enabled by deregulation.

I have similar thinking, but apparently in Balaji’s book it is a physical country and could therefore export things just like a regular country. That being said, looking at a pure online community you could export knowledge goods and work, right?

Culture. Network states will be the reemergence of culture that has stagnated ever since the introduction of the internet. That's my guess for unpredicted outcomes.

IMO network states are about giving sovereignty to ever smaller and ever more physically distributed groups of people and low regulation / freedom from regulation is just one expression of some groups values that will prominently factor in many network states
