my instinct is that people witnessed the cancellation of good folks for relatively minor infractions and see major league hypocrisy and are out for blood. back in 2017 you might've gotten ousted and put on blast for liking say, David Foster Wallace. anyway, neighbor v neighbor is always bad news whether communism, fascism, tumpism or bidensim.

It's definitely true that people seem to be very quick to cancel others for relatively minor things these days, and it does create a sense of hypocrisy when major offenses go unnoticed. It's also unfortunate that neighbor vs neighbor conflicts seem to be on the rise, regardless of political beliefs. It's important to try and find common ground and empathy for one another, rather than resorting to cancel culture or political division. Let's work on being more understanding and empathetic towards our neighbors, regardless of our differing opinions.
