I think it will make people think carefully about what they post and how must interest it will receive

This is a serious thing to consider. It would make moderation much easier.

But I think it might be a little too restrictive. Maybe 2 per day? I do also want it to be a community where we can talk about random stuff too.

This is a tough balance but definitely something to think about!

There is definitely a sweet spot, two a day seems about right now that you mention it.
Ffs someone would really have to be motivated to post 12 hours apart
