lots of people seem to think that paying for storage on farcaster means that they won't see ads or be exploited like in web2 1. this money does not fund farcaster apps 2. while there is no serious competition for client diversity there is no inherent reason why this type of exploitation won't happen on warpcast

the opposite to be honest. It's very difficult to extract meaningful data from Twitter after the API change for example. On Farcaster you can farm a lot more datapoints - social media, financial interest and transactions connected to it etc. This is a goldmine for some thirsty data brokers and sketchy marketers

Farcaster/web3, you know what you post is fully public to anyone Web2, you are just one data breach away from your info becoming public anyway, as is increasingly common The only way to preserve your privacy at this point is to live off-grid; off-chain isn’t enough
