I do not want to wake up in the morning
I do not want to get out of bed
To put on my slippers,
My smile
I do not want to drive to my gym
To train mixed MA style
I do not want to pick up my phone with its many messages,
I do not want to walk up to my office
With its many pending files
And to-dos,
I do not even want to tend to my garden,
Read the paper, pet my puppy or feed my cat,
I do not want to get up in the morning
To face the day, to face its people,
The realities,
I do not want to contribute my time to this madness,
I just don't.
I do instead want to lay in bed with you
Dreaming, lucidly,
Half awake,
Half me and half you
I want to crane my neck and kiss your lips
To hold you tight from behind
To be held by you,
I want to slip my hands under your body
Feel it's warmth
Fall asleep with my nose filled with the scent of you,
Hiding from the day in your hair,
I want to look at you
Half asleep
Lose myself in you
Contribute my time to you,
To us. 0 reply
