The question remains though … how can we build a system that makes distinction between a simple gesture (like a like, share …) and a more meaningful engagement 

Had the same issue when was digital magazine publisher in late 90’s. A professional feature costed, involving a journalist, a photographer, a corrector etc… and when bloggers appeared (like influencers today), they reshuffled the whole media industry
