if the conclusion is "and if we do that again we get that result" you're missing two key facts. >effect of macro >effect of CIBs and their strategy We can't recreate those two and so reinstating the simple allowance won't create the buy pressure you want.

Sure. Just be aware the simplicity is not what produced the effect you're highlighting. And while the moderation rules were in the background, foreground enforcement actions created massive controversy and helped unwind the parabola (CIBs exiting).

No apology needed, sir. I too yearn for the glory days and do wish it were as simple as "pay the doorman 10k to play" -- alas, that only appeared to work and, truthfully, created the mess we're in now. The parabola was mostly unavoidable but imo /really/ messed up our maturation, culturally and chart-wise.

I don't care about money, what actually upsets me the most is to be seen to be wrong. As we saw from moxie yesterday, anyone who spends time here can make money somehow. Yes, unfortunately it's not that simple anymore. I want culture and joy to come back and I hope we can achieve that. Everyone seems to be very serious and tense. And it makes me think that people are like this despite the fact that degen offers incredible airdrop earnings compared to many platforms.

Joy and Stress both produce culture. Different styles, tho. Joy specifically will return when either: >everyone else stops caring about price, as you do >price rises enough and euphoria returns >something else gets everyone jazzed up, abbreviating the cycle that said, protracted dysphoria is NORMAL and HEALTHY and good medicine for new cultures (if it doesn't kill us, ofc). imo we're still recovering from March/ April's local tops and the brief, but intense mania that followed. That takes 4-12 months to correct (if it ever does).

Sorry for late response. I was cooking and eating. I hope we survive this, we are strong enough to survive. We just have to hold on tighter. We have to be more open, more welcoming. People are tired. Maybe some will recover from fatigue and see again how strong we can still be. Then we can come back much stronger.

The protocol will survive. The current population of users will, by and large, survive. The major projects will continue to iterate towards better PMF, greater credible neutrality, higher DAU, etc; the smaller projects will do the same, albeit more nimbly and at greater peril; and the cemetery of failed attempts will keep growing. True last year. True today. True next year, too.
