Smart Wallets only serve people who have never used crypto 

They don't serve 99% of people who have been onchain before and are active onchain daily or weekly 

If we want Smart Wallets to get adopted then we should make them work for the people that are actually active onchain

ser there is no "retail" users.

and self custody wallets or UX are not the problem that is keeping new users from doing things onchain.

smart wallets solves for a problem that does not exist.

you just need more useful apps outside of the fringe stuff we do today.

Realistically We'll all be forced into smart wallets at some point. 

I don't like it but that's what will end up happening.

why can’t it be both? 

Doesn’t it feel weird to recommend a smart wallet to a friend that you don’t use often yourself bc it would require you to essentially start over?
