Lately, I've heard ppl saying that a lot of high-quality users are joining Farcaster. So I decided to check the data, and here's what I found:

- Since Aug 01, FC has gained 20k new users
- 9k casted at least once
- 5k casted 1-10 times 
- 550 casted 100+ times
- 160 casted more than 370 times
 
The data (which I got via @neynar) shows that over 50% of the new users have never made a cast. For context, the average OG user, such as @phil, makes about 369 casts per month (root + replies).

I've been the source of the rumor that high-quality users are joining Farcaster. 😎 

Seriously thought I do believe it is possible to onboard many people who simply enjoy posting and have interesting observations and experiences to share. You need to get the posting addicts involved.

I am with you on this. Warpcast is a great app, I like it more than Twitter. But it does have major issues, like an algo home feed and no chron feed. The damage that memecoins did to this place can’t be understated, but a lot of people, especially OGs, don’t want to hear that. They either made a lot of money or came here just for the money, which is why the protocol has ended up with so much low-quality spam

Chron feed would be great honestly..I think I missed the memecoin era.

You are very deep in the memecoin era actually. Moxie is one example, but I do think that it's a better attempt than degen, even with all its flaws. Nothing is perfect of course, but financializing natural social engagement sounds like a bad idea from the jump. Always down to have more chats about this, me and @geoffgolberg talk about it all the time
