There is a lot of discussion on Farcaster of getting more people to use Farcaster. I think it’s obvious that you should just invite people to use it. This is how I started using it. You need to target people who actually respect the platform and would take an interest in the community. They should come from all different backgrounds, but also shouldn’t have giant egos. They should be down to earth people who just like to post, share information, and interact. There already seems to be lots of tech people and VCs so there’s not an obvious point in further saturating the platform with this type of individual. There is a big world out there with all diverse types of people looking for a home. I believe its possible to build a community wherever the infrastructure works.

dang, idk. straight inviting folks is hard. we need more interesting modalities and interactivity through composability and discovery. people will show up because perceived value is greater than existing platforms. a vibrant ecosystem of high value substitutes is the only way to tip folks over.

It’s not as easy as inviting people in. I helped a heap of artists get set up in here and most of them have left because their casts were invisible. There are a few factors that led to this for each of them but I would also say you’ve had a very different experience to most.

i agree i think things are really overthought here it reminds me of when my mum used to frantically tidy up the house when guests might be coming and stress out about it like they were gonna go upstairs and check the dust on the top of the cupboards invite people now and if they like it they may just stick around! hey we did!!!

as much as I'd want to (and I'm hopeful that the day will come), inviting people to Farcaster = inviting people to Warpcast (for a number of reasons). And on the current state of things, Warpcast will, in most cases, make these, the same people that got invited to try it out, invisible, to say the least. Also, Brazil's example and the limitations around signing up are also a barrier. I'd love to end this cast with a suggestion for a solution, but there's been plenty around for the team to evaluate and take action.

I do exactly what you say. The problem is that just a few are willing to shell out the 4$ to begin experimenting what elsewhere is "free"

Encouraging people to cast in channels as opposed to the home feed would also help with engagement to make people feel more welcome Is there a way to sort channels based on how active they are as opposed to just seeing how many followers it has? A small active channel on a topic that appeals to you would be a great place for a new comer to start casting in order to see some engagement & build confidence in how the platform works

I do think inviting folks is key but if you don’t get promoted by the existing OG’s you’re simply invisible on the timeline. You’re one of only 2 people I have notifications on for and you’re a great caster. But the only reason I discovered your account is because @dwr.eth recommended checking you out FC has got to fix that if they want major growth imo

The biggest struggle Farcaster has is that its most valuable feature is invisible (sufficient decentralization). What *is* visible is lots of crypto stuff that has helped build it to where it is today. However, this repulses people who have been conditioned to dismiss blockchain because of scammers. I think the best bet at present is to invite your more adventurous acquaintances to give it a try. Maybe toss them $5 to give it a shot.

I've been inviting people to FC ever since I began using it. I currently have an open invitation to everyone I speak to: "I'll send you a referral link so you don't even have to pay the $5 to join /warpcast." Many in the blockchain metaverse realm have taken me up on this offer. It is a slow build to be sure. I think it results in a solid core. Just like the saplings in the heart of old growth forests.

Warpcast isn't as welcoming to everyone as it has been to you I'm afraid that the diverse world will end up in "Show more replies" because they do not fit within certain parameters. There's a whole world out there already which isn't allowed to surface below others replies. Like this one from myself.

I invited 5 people last week via gifting them accounts and then showed up at a meetup they were going to do and gave a short presentation on Farcaster. We are still on that early stage of personal invites and evangelism.

to invite event a couple of people you need to know dozens of people in the first place actually I think I've onboarded close to 10 or more people this year talking about it in person harder to make them actually start posting but had a few successful cases of it too I guess a good way can be to use other social media people are on and shill farcaster to them
