Based on the news of Pavel’s arrest today I took the time to visit his Telegram channel.

His writing history in the channel displays a clarity of thinking and commitment to transparency that is admirable. 

Here is his most recent post from August 14th. Hopefully it is not the last one ever.

Telegram is a real channel committed to free speech. Its been a consistent resource for reporters and reseachers and I've genuinely been impressed with its ecumenical nature. Very upset to hear of the persecution of its founder.

It really was an independent, global messaging app

and actually quite scary how and why one country should have enough influence to jail someone who’s built an app that has many times more people using it than the country has citizens voted for that government to exist in the first place 

we’re living in the network / tech era now and maybe that’s why governments are trying to decelerate all things tech and do something as absurd as this
