Reading now, thanks for writing it! “I get the sense that many people have preexisting relationships IRL, or are at most a degree of separation away.” —> common belief but actually most of us met on farcaster first and then become IRL relationships 😌

I like your observation that Farcaster feels more like a village. I also agree that it needs more people who are not in crypto or tech. While I like the culture of tipping, I feel it is way too complex for most people and needs to be greatly simplified.

Loved it. Totally agree on the need for "news influencers". Makes me think of the implications to the traditional media model. News organizations haven't quite adapted to the web2 internet and could certainly benefit from web3.

there used to be a time when farcastles GOLD would immediately transfer to your wallet, as soon as the bot replied this was unparalleled UX, i miss it real bad, the claim flow sucks ass, too confusing - i am aware of at least 4 coins that ive been tipped but don't know how to claim. bring back instant tipping.

Murtaza, your presence here is greatly appreciated. People made fun of Google+, but it was great network for sharing thoughtful perspectives. Its fate demonstrated the risks of centralization. I've been looking for a 'read, write, own' network, and was saddened by all the NFT/meme coin hype on Lens. As writers like you engage here, it serves as a powerful attractor for others in building something more valuable than that. Thanks, too, for demonstrating the read inline feature and ability to integrate comments with Paragraph too. For those of us looking for a new home for our writing, that's compelling.
